Hrithik Roshan turns to smaller screen to host a dance reality show

hrithik roshan dance
America’s popular TV show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ is making its way to India and when talking of a host to guide the show on its way to popularity, there could be no other name so apt than of Bollywood’s most talented dancer, Hrithik Roshan himself.
The whole world swears by the dancing skills of Hrithik. In the words of Flexy Stu and Loren L, Hrithik’s choreographer for ‘Kites’, “Hrithik is a perfectionist and a workaholic; he would call us late at night to come down from out hotel, get into his car and meet up to listen to the track he did. He’s really excited about the music and he’s really striving to be authentic. A lot of actors in Bollywood try to take short cuts; he’s real the whole time.”

Aamir will be the baddie in Dhoom 3

After months of discussions, Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan has finally said YES to Dhoom 3. The superstar signed on the dotted line last night. He will be seen playing a baddie which was essayed by John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan in the first and the second part respectively. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will once again play the cop and his tapori sidekick.
The film’s script and storyline is being kept secret, but Aamir Khan has himself confirmed that he was ‘highly impressed’ when he heard the script.
Says a source, “Last year in June, Aamir had met YRF scion Aditya Chopra, who had given Aamir an idea of how he envisaged him in Dhoom 3. Aamir had liked what he heard.
A detailed script narration took place thereafter on August 13 last year. After that, Aamir mulled if he should do the role or not. But then, Aamir always takes time to commit. And once he does, you know that he lives up to the expectations.”

Preity Zinta’s call to Indians: Guinness World Records - Ab India Todega

preity zinta
Be it Madhuri Dixit, Malaika Arora Khan, Mallika Sherawat, Akshay Kumar or SRK himself, Bollywood stars seem to have been smitten by the lure of small screen’s reality shows. The latest to give in to the lure of TV shows is IPL woman Preity Zinta who will be hosting Guinness World Records - Ab India Todega, a desi version of the international show, produced by Miditech and to be aired later this year.
The shoot for the promos have already been started and in one of the promos video, while pulling a truck Preity says, “Australia ka Derek Boyer ka Guinness World Record aaj main toodoongi.”
Later she stated, “Chaliye main naa kar saki toh kya hua? India kar ke dikhadega. Ab garv se har Hindustani bolega, Guinness World record, Ab India Todega.”

Madhuri Dixit is the lifestyle ambassador of ‘Food Food’

madhuri dixit
Madhri Dixit has been appointed as lifestyle ambassador of Food Food, a 24×7 Hindi TV channel. The channel, which would be a celebration of food and associated lifestyle, is business collaboration between Sanjeev Kapoor’s Khana Khazana India and Astro, the Malaysian company with interests ranging from telecom to media.
At the launch of his Food Food channel in Hotel Imperial when Kapoor questioned Madhuri that if she were to throw a party at home, which three Bollywood stars would she choose to invite, Madhuri answered with a laugh, “Well, I guess I’ll choose all the Bollywood heroes.”
‘First, I’ll of course choose Shah Rukh Khan,’ said Madhuri, ‘because he always praises whatever I do.’
‘Next, I’ll choose Aamir Khan because he is going to analyse my cooking, and then point out how a particular dish could do with a little more of salt, etc. He’s the analytical type, you see,’ reasoned Madhuri.
‘And then I’ll choose Salman Khan because he’s simply going to come and ask for the food without any ado.’

Vidya Balan gets ‘pregnant’!

Each time she signs a movie, the charming Vidya Balan has something new and surprising for us…. Yet again Vidya is going to play the motherly image (she played a mom in ‘Paa’) in Sujoy Ghosh's ‘Kahaani’. The film is about a woman who comes down from London in search of her husband.
In this Vidya is said to be featuring as a six-month pregnant woman. And folks, she is one real disciplinarian, we say…. For, Vidya took her character so seriously that she imposed a ‘No Smoking’ ban on the shooting sets. This ban in fact annoyed the unit members.
Said the director to sources, "She's really into the character. So much so that after a while she started freaking us out. She started behaving like an expectant mother and wouldn't let anyone smoke in front of her… And we were like… Huh? Pregnant!? Who? So I think for Balan once she is mentally there, physical bits are baaye haath ka khel."

Neha hasn't left the camp

In recent release 'Utt Pataang', Mahie Gill was the leading lady opposite Vinay Pathak. Now that came as a surprise for few since over last few years, Neha Dhupia has been the preferred choice for the team which comprises of actors like Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla etc.
The team is undoubtedly a mini-camp of sorts and one wondered what was the real reason behind Mahie (who actually did a rather good job in the film) to be the chosen one. More so because till just a few weeks back, Neha was pretty much a regular in the camp. Her 'Phas Gaya Re Obama' with Rajat Kapoor found rave reviews for everyone involved and before that she had featured in films like 'Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi?', 'Mithya' and 'Dasvidaniya'.
"Nothing is actually lost for Neha here as there are two more films made by this camp - 'I Am 24' and 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala' - that feature her as the leading lady," says a trade observer, "Mahie may have been given a nod with this film but Neha's association with the camp is undisputed.

Yeh Saali Zindagi Movie Review

'Yeh Saali Zindagi' is the kind of outing that makes you believe that Bollywood indeed has some folks out there who are trying to do things differently when it comes to making films and yet ensuring that commercial elements are well integrated into the storytelling. Also, it is the kind of film that deserves a watch in a theatre because of the sheer experience of enjoying it with a crowd rather than in isolation.

For Irrfan Khan, it was a one sided love story that made him give his all for Chitrangda Singh. At her end though she was unsure about what she actually wanted in her love. And between the two of them there is a small time gangster (Arunoday Singh), a money launderer (Saurabh Shukla), a cop (Sushant Singh), a businessman's son (Vipul Gupta), and a couple of gangster brothers (Yashpal Sharma, Prashant Narayanan). A kidnapping takes place, a deal happens, loyalties change, money exchanges hands, bullets are fired while only one thing remains constant - Irrfan's love for Chitrangda.

Akshay’s series of flops… Twinkle to be by his side…
Akshay Kumar is subjected to the topsy-turvy world of business these days. Now, his wife steps up to give him a better perspective, on his film choices
Lately, Akshay has seen a series of flops.
A source tells, “Akshay, in the past, has been cast in good films. His recent flops, however, are not entirely his mistake, but just bad luck to an extent.
The scripts were definitely not great either. It all started from Chandni Chowk To China. Although, Tees Maar Khan did manage to salvage him, the movie turned out to be a Box-Office flop.”

The source also commented on Twinkle reviewing Akshay’s scripts, saying, “There is no harm in a second opinion, if you can get it. Moreover, Twinkle wants Akshay to get it all correct hereafter, so she is pitching-in by advising him on the scripts he receives.”

Utt Pataang Movie Review

Telling the incidents that happened one night, 'Utt Pataang' is an intelligent film that entertains while maintaining a fun element right through its 100 minutes duration. What makes these 100 minutes special is the back and forth narrative that is the USP of 'Utt Pataang'. So what one gets to see are numerous scenes that are revisited later in the film while bringing with them an altogether different connotation, something that one never saw coming.
It is this narration style that makes 'Utt Pataang' stand a distance away from many other thrillers. Where 'Utt Pataang' scores is the storytelling pattern more than anything else. This is what makes this Srikanth V. Velagaleti directed film an innovative piece of cinema.

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji Movie Review

A couple of years back Amitabh Bachchan had commented that if there was one film maker who had the potential to carry forward the legacy of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee, it could be Madhur Bhandarkar. Well, his prophecy has indeed come true with 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai' indeed reminding audience of the cinema of yore where films were made in and around real-life situations.
It is these real-life situations that make 'Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji' a smile through film where audience gets into a feel-good zone for those two hours. Really, right from the time the opening credits start rolling till the last frame comes up on screen, a smile seldom leaves you. And even when it does for those few moments, the dramatic moments are gripping enough to hold your attention.

Dhobi Ghat Movie Review

Question: How you mold your life? Answer: By the choice we make and the chances we take centering on things, people and places we are in. Kiran Rao’s introduction before ‘Dhobi Ghat’ was not much more than a wife of superstar Aamir Khan but with this movie, the helmer in her very first attempt has washed her resume with an artistic detergent and updated it as a helmer who thinks beyond Bollywood.
Kiran Rao in her debut film has told an evocative and complex story of people coming to Mumbai – the city which offers more than pools of money apart from its breathtaking sea face where she interestingly twines the lives of Arun (Aamir Khan), an upmarket artist meets Shai (Monica Dogra), an NRI investment banker at his exhibition. A chance encounter makes Shai believe it can be taken further but the moody Arun is in no mood of relationships…

Turning 30!!! Movie Review

B-town transporter of desi political and crime exotica Prakash Jha goes urban as a producer to explore the feelings of a thirty year old hottie in this Bollywood explanation of its sex and the city.
Helmed by first timer writer director Alankrita Shrivastava, this urban comedy about a nearing thirty urban career girl whose fondness for a whole host of unattractive addictions has gone a long way in putting the screws to her romantic life - and her self-esteem is more style than substance.
The nearly 2 hour flick is padded with those trendy garments in which we see our colleagues and friends roaming around us and the movie feels exceedingly familiar too, so much so that most of the plot turns can be guessed well before they happen.
The scarcity of clever quips makes the movie lengthy but still, there is still something satisfying about the effort.

Sonam in Mausam…

Sonam in Mausam…
Ever since Pankaj Kapoor’s directorial debut Mausam was announced, there has been quit a lot of buzz about it. After lot of chaos, the leading lady, Sonam Kapoor was finalized. She will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor.
Sonam Kapoor, known for her fashion sense, is creating a curiousity among her fans and followers about her styling in the film. It’s learnt that for some parts in the film, Sonam has worn elaborate dresses like gowns.
The movie is expected to release by mid of this year. Though Sonam is physically tall in comparison to Shahid, their pairing is a novelty for the film. The two have really worked hard for it and Sonam has even attended workshops with Pankaj.

Yamla Pagla Deewana Movie Review

You can remove an Indian out from Bollywood but you cannot remove Bollywood out from an Indian.
‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ is a fulfilled tribute to the spirit of Bollywood which reconfirms that Indian cinema of yore can never be ‘lost’ and it should be ‘found’ periodically to give us a ‘feel good’ feeling in this troubled times.
Producer Director Samir Karnik pays a ‘Deolastic’ tribute to Manmohan Desai, Prakash Mehra - the papas of wholesome entertaining musicals who gave us ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Parvarish’, ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Dharam Veer’, ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’ etc.
YPD is a crazy fulfilled joyride where happily married Paramveer Singh (Sunny Deol) comes to India from Canada to look for his father, Dharam Singh (Dharmendra) and his brother Gajodhar Singh (Bobby Deol), who were separated from him during childhood.

No One Killed Jessica Movie Review

For a film like this which is based on reality but is told in a thrilling manner, it was always a thin rope to walk for the makers. After all the case went on for years in court and just like 'Black Friday' (which again tried to connect number of disjointed events), 'No One Killed Jessica' too is a terrific portrayal of what 'could' have actually happened.
There is tension in the air the moment Vidya Balan is informed about her sister been shot. From this point on there is no turning back as you look at the screen wide eyed for the next 15-20 minutes as a graphical representation of minute by minute series of events that led to Jessica's (played effectively by first timer Myra Karn) death are depicted on screen. You know that it would be one dramatic journey from here on and as an audience, you aren't disappointed.

Sallu sticks to what he says…
Salman Khan was very much present for the award functions yet the actor refused to go up on stage to collect his trophy.
This happened twice.
Well, in the industry, there are many actors who say that they don’t care for awards, but Salman Khan is the only actor who actually believes that and puts it to action. He is the only actor who has not gone up on stage to collect his trophy, even though he was present at the venue at two award functions this year.
His brother Arbaaz Khan collected them on his behalf, and the trophies are now at his office.
The Dabangg team has collected over 50 awards already. And the award season isn’t over yet.

Impatient Vivek Movie Review

In case of 'Impatient Vivek', there isn't any redeeming factor whatsoever. Actors don't act, director doesn't direct, story writer doesn't write a story good enough and the technical crew doesn't bring in any finesse to the product. End result? A total disaster which even makes one forget that even the title of the film was totally indecipherable to begin with.
The film is about a young man named IV (Vivek Sudarshan) who is 'Idiot Vivek' for his dad, 'Impatient Vivek' for his friends and 'Adorable Vivek' for his mother. Ever so hasty in his decision making, he falls in love with Sayali Bhagat but when the girl doesn't respond and things don't go as per the plan, he kidnaps her. What follows from this point on is total commotion that makes one totally give up rather than spend time and energy on getting restless or impatient.

Dabangg director torn between two Khans…
Shahrukh Khan is very impressed with Abhinav Kashyap the director of 2010 super hit Dabangg. He now wants him to direct a full-on masala entertainer for him.

Toonpur Ka Superrhero Movie Review

'Toonpur Ka Superrhero' is a visual experience that needs to applauded for the sheer attempt that has gone into it's making. As for the story of 'Toonpur Ka Superrhero', it is the kind that can be instantly grasped by children, its target audience. There is a world somewhere far far away and it is called 'Toonpur'. There are good toons and bad toons. And then there is Ajay Devgn, a screen-hero, whom the good toons rope in to defeat the evil ones.
The film is just ordinary when it comes to the scenes involving real characters. The opening action sequence with a motorboat chase belongs to 90s and is hardly thrilling. Also, the sequences involving Ajay, his secretary, his family etc. have a ‘seen it done all’ feel. Frankly, if there was an attempt at bringing on some emotions here, it doesn't quite work. Also, there is no spark that one sees on screen despite Ajay and Kajol coming together.

Isi Life Mein Movie Review

Major most culprit of 'Isi Life Mein' is that the love between the protagonists can hardly be felt. What adds salt to the injury is the fact that even while her marriage is on, Sandeepa is shown to be quite happy and doesn't once express any emotion whatsoever for Akshay. On the other hand the boy too just about gives up and never reaches out to her. When the so-called lovers in the film are shown as only friends, how can audience be expected to carry any emotions for them to be reunited (if at they were united in the first place)?
For Akshay Oberoi and Sandeepa Dhar, life is being exposed about seeing two different worlds. When Sandeepa comes from her small town to Mumbai, she is amazed at how college-goers behave, how couples kiss before marriage, short clothes being in vogue and youngsters screaming at their parents. On the other hand for Akshay, Sandeepa is an epitome of a small town girl who just doesn't know how to dream and is unaware about her hidden potential.

Honestly, you don't quite warm up to the proceedings of 'Isi Life Mein'. The college sequences are straight out of 90s and reminds one of the kind that have hardly been in fashion since the 'Khiladi' or 'Jaan Tere Naam' days. In fact there are some scenes which are straight out of 'Maine Pyaar Kiya'. A girl having hots for Akshay tries to steal him away from Sandeepa but he rebukes her. The sweet nothings shared between the couple where eyes do all the talking also belong to the world that Salman Khan & Bhagyashree had left behind.

Tees Maar Khan Movie Review

'Tees Maar Khan' isn't a film where one has to hunt for logic in every scene. Even the humour here isn't the kind where one is required to find any subtle references. In fact every scene that makes you bring on a smile or a laugh is on your face and announces it's arrival loud and clear. Subtlety wasn't expected from this first ever collaboration of Akshay Kumar and Farah Khan and for that reason, 'Tees Maar Khan' stays on to be as unpretentious as it gets.

For conman Tabrez Mirza Khan (Akshay Kumar) aka Tees Maar Khan, it's a challenge to escape with treasure worth 500 crores and weighing around 10000 kgs from a moving train. He has to make the impossible happen and for that he makes a plan which involves running the biggest con job ever. He wears the hat of a movie director, hires the services of a top actor (Akshaye Khanna) and ropes in an unsuspecting set of 200 odd villagers who support him in his game-plan. How he manages to execute his plan takes 'Tees Maar Khan' to its conclusion.
